Frontline rolls: Photos, Letters & Artifacts from Ukrainian Soldiers

At the beginning of 2025, I felt an even stronger need to speak the truth about the war and that’s how the idea for a new project was born: to send disposable film cameras to our soldiers so they could document their own lives, daily routines, and work.

I reached out to Fotovramci, and they generously supported the initiative by providing the cameras. That’s how it all began in February 2025. But the project quickly grew into something much more than just photographs. Along with each camera, I asked the soldiers to include a handwritten letter and a small artifact of their choice. What I received in return were not only images, but deeply personal stories, emotions, dramas, and memories that will live on after victory. These artifacts and photographs now form an anthology of our heroes defending Ukraine’s independence today.
